が (ga) is a particle that marks a noun as the core subject of a sentence. In the case that が is omitted from a sentence, the subject still exists, but is instead inferred from context.1

Example: Yui walks

硐董が歩く

Info

In this example, the individual known as Yui is marked with が, which means they are the core subject of the sentence.

歩く (aruku) is the verb and means β€œto walk”.
