An individual can only be enslaved through coercion, with the slaver holding indirect control over their body; however, a slave still holds direct control over their body, which is a superior link to the indirect one held by a slaver. If a system is to hold that indirect control of someones body constitutes a greater claim to it than direct control, then it is a system of might makes right as it would be impossible to avoid conflicts over bodies. Such a system would be conflict-authorising, and therefore irrational.
