Adverbial nouns (Japanese)

Oct 22, 20251 min read

Adverbial nouns are specific Japanese nouns that can be used as adverbs without any additional modification. They can have に appended to them (as with other noun → adverb transformation), however such is not necessary for these adverbial nouns.1

Example

ゆっくり (leisure) OR ゆっくり (leisurely/slowly).
