The democratic solution to the impossibility thesis fails to resolve the contradiction

Oct 22, 20251 min read

When applying the democratic solution to a conflict over some property owned by a set of individuals, the losing voters would not have ownership of the good. This contradicts the premise that the property was owned by the set of individuals. The democratic solution therefore fails to resolve the contradiction of group property highlighted within the impossibility thesis.1
