て-form

The て-form is a verb form in Japanese. Verbs can be transformed into this て-form, and it has a number of different uses within Japanese grammar.1

Verbs in this form are not the primary verb in a sentence.

The て-form is used for the following:

  • Continuous present tense
  • Completing a clause
  • Giving actions
  • Shorthand for てください
